This coastal strip is a protected departmental natural space accessible from the parking lot along the RD 168. It offers a beautiful hike, punctuated by viewpoints over the Rance estuary, shaded by magnificent beeches, holm oaks, laurels and maritime pines.
This site illustrates precisely the distinction between a “natural space” and a “green space”. Here the contrast is striking between the spontaneous forest and the meadows of the natural space and the wooded park where the lawn is perfectly mowed and the location of each tree and bush has been expertly studied.
The hike can end with a break in this beautiful landscaped Briantais park designed in the 19th century by the Bülher brothers (creators of the Thabor garden in Rennes), now the municipal park of the City of St Malo.
This great diversity of vegetation allows many animal species to flourish there: squirrels, hedgehogs, insects, bats, sparrows and birds share this unique place.
