    The Virgin and the Chouans
The built heritage of this site includes two buildings (the mill and the bakehouse) which were part of the outbuildings of the Manoir de la Higourdais. In the 15th century, the "Le Diable" family lived in this now defunct manor. She changed her unfortunate name to that of "Marie de la Higourdais". This family offered the parish a bas-relief representing the death of the Virgin. Listed in the inventory of historical monuments, the religious piece is still visible in the church of Epiniac. Large granite blocks outcrop on the banks of the stream. One of them is called the "Table des Chouans". The rock would have hosted on many occasions the meetings of the royalist insurgents.

    The clog makers' corner
Until the 19th century, traveling clog makers settled in the woods. They stayed with their families in huts that they built on the spot. The clog was traditionally made from beech wood, which was easy to work with. The clog makers moved according to the cuts and production. In the heart of the park, a mill restored by the Department hosts a colony of bats. It is closed to the public to guarantee their tranquility. Near the car park, an old thatched bakehouse has been rehabilitated by the Department.
