It is the largest menhir in the region, standing almost 10 meters high. Its contour is 8.70 m on its widest part.
According to legend, two brothers and their armies clashed there and the massacre was such that the blood of the fighters forming a river, activated the wheel of a mill downstream. The heavenly hand separated the warriors, a rock fell and penetrated heavily into the ground. Since then, this menhir sinks steadily an inch per century; the day the Champ Dolent stone is completely buried, the world will end.
